ROLE OVERVIEW
The FP&A Senior Analyst in our Projects area is a hands-on business-facing Finance role responsible for the development and delivery of Budgets in a dynamic and changing environment, driving quality analysis and insight, building excellent relationships across the organization, and closely tracking and challenging performance.

 

The role has outstanding scope as it will cover Neom wide Projects, and a significant facility management area with significant challenges. Hence financial acumen, commercial knowledge, and an ability to influence, can add significant value to Neom 

 

 
REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY

  •  Business analysis and performance intervention – the role requires strong analytical skills, and evidence that these skills have been used to change business performance.   
  • Commerciality – the role requires a commercial mindset, an interest in business performance and associated contracts, and a desire to understand performance drivers.
  • Performance Management skills – understanding the budget, managing performance, quality forecasting, no surprises, and talking about performance in a business language.  
  • Revenue and Cost Management – a track record of effective performance management is required. 
  • A curious mind, and a willingness to learn. The Projects area has complexity, so an inquisitive mind is imperative. 
  • Experience in driving process changes and efficiencies, and high attention to details to ensure the processes are optimized.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, build and sustain strong relationships. 
  • Control – in the broader sense, we need someone with a strong control mindset, someone who understands financial controls, business controls, and has good understanding over the performance of the business
  • Leadership – whilst this role doesn’t have any direct reports, an ability to take the lead, take the space, and drive outcomes across the business is required. 
  • High attention to detail – the incumbent must be hands on, and have a great eye for numbers 
  • Outstanding forecasting and analysis skills, 
  • Change Management skills are strongly desired
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Uphold ethical standards in all stakeholder interactions and communications. 
  • Technical expertise in both accounting and finance. The candidate must be a strong accountant with a good working knowledge of capitalization rules and policy.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES 
The FP&A Senior Analyst responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

Budget, Forecasting, Variance Analysis and Central Reporting

  • The role has monthly Central Reporting requirements to Neom’s Consolidation team. This includes a management pack, variance analysis, regular forecasting, and quality commentary. 
  • Delivery of the Budget process within required timeframes, providing quality analysis to Finance leadership. 
  • The Projects Budget will have both a gross and net lens, with an overall Project Budget and an Allocation to businesses.  Business will challenge allocated costs, so the role needs to understand the balance of both the managing Projects business, and the receiving needs and challenges of key stakeholders. 
  • The forecast process is a dynamic one, and the role requires the need to deeply understand planned activity, challenge all spend, to both provide risks and identify cost or capex opportunities to Neom. 
  • Variances to Budget need to be explained in a quality manner to provide Neom and our key shareholders. A ‘no surprises’ mentality needs to be adopted.

 

Analysis, Insight and Value Delivery 

  • The role also has business reporting requirements so the role requires a high analytical skillset in order to provide insight and delivery of financial value to the Projects area.
  • The role will take on a broad remit, and extend across all elements of Projects including requirements of all accommodation including reporting, forecasting and analytics, as well as Project delivery of Infrastructure and Outer Regions teams on behalf of Neon Regions. 
  • Standard reporting requirements currently exist but the successful candidate must expand the quality and breadth of reporting. We require the development of an insightful management pack for Projects which will cover the breadth of the area, and which will inform and challenge the business. The new report will cover Capex, Revenue and Opex, accommodation and office space, and include the development of KPIs, at gross and net level, from the business drivers, and performance comparatives. This will provide the necessary transparency to the business. The final output will also need to integrate into our centralized reporting tool across the Corporate Centre which Projects is part of.

 

Stakeholder Management 

  • The role has multiple stakeholders, so building relationships, and a track record of powerful interface management is a key requirement.
  • The role requires widespread integration into a sizeable and widespread Projects team, understanding complex contracts, commercial and operational areas, 
  • The successful candidate will drive the business towards performance accountability for their areas via linkage to business drivers and KPIs.  In addition to this, role needs to play a strong interface and reporting role across the Regions for the multiple projects that Projects run on the Region’s behalf. 
  • Providing regular reports to senior management on stakeholder engagement status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Governance, Safeguard Financial Integrity & Ensure Adequate Financial Control 
  • A strong control mindset and track record of control oversight.  
  • The role must ensure that control incidents are minimized, and a strong financial mindset is developed across the financial framework of Projects including balance sheet and the P&L.
  • Strong governance over procurement processes and associated Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders.

  • Utilize data analytics to drive strategies and decisions.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS 
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years FP&A experience, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting experience 
  • Individual needs to be highly proactive and can demonstrate high levels of initiative
  • Experience working in either large-scale construction projects, or with large multi-nationals is strongly preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial bias, a desire to understand business, and to drive commercial value.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Strong ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent ability to comprehend complex, technical subjects.
  • Desire and ability to be a strong team player that motivates and educates other team members and leads by example
     
    Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, and relevant accounting qualification eg ACA, ACMA, ACCA, CPA
