ROLE OVERVIEW

NEOM Energy Sector (ENOWA) is looking for a Project Manager - HVDC Converter Stations to lead and manage the HVDC Converter Stations project, ensuring seamless delivery within scope, time, budget, and quality standards. The candidate must have extensive experience in overseeing large-scale HVDC projects, particularly in complex environments such as in GCC. Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision are essential. He/ She should have a strong track record in delivering under his full responsibility T&D project worth of 400MUSD.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES

Management of Project          

• Monitor contractual obligations and ensure compliance.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, reporting progress regularly.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align project goals and timelines.
• Ensure adherence to site safety standards and proactively manage
• Develop and manage all necessary official and unofficial communication channels associated to the management of such complex project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Tools and Processes  

• Support and work closely with the Portfolio Delivery HVDC Manager on to develop and implement integrated reporting systems for comprehensive project tracking.
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting and controlling processes
  
  

Team Development     

• Mentor and guide team members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
• Identify and facilitate training opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  
  

Interfacing with Suppliers and Stakeholders  

• Main Technology Provider and Contractors (including Saudi Electric Company Group)
• Various ENOWA teams
• External organizations such as SEC, KSA Government Agencies, Energy solution providers

EXPERIENNCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated leadership in managing HVDC projects, particularly with VSC technology, and a successful track record in delivering complex transmission projects exceeding $400M
• Comprehensive knowledge of standards, procedures, and grid codes including knowledge or affiliation with committees and regulatory organizations across the power sector globally
• Ability to understand and influence tactical issues in complex supply chain setups
• The ideal candidate will not only excel in technical and managerial aspects but will also embody the values and vision of ENOWA, contributing to our goal of revolutionizing the energy sector in Saudi Arabia
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Master’s in business administration is a plus
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
• 8 of those in a leadership position in complex project management
